Outcomes
The 2008 eCampaigning Forum grew to 125 people and trialled collecting video interviews of some participants to help share some of the expertise beyond the event participants.
ECF08 resulted in:
- Videoed speakers, conducted video interviews and identified article contributors for the Campaigning Insights project to document and share eCampaigning expertise beyond event participants
- Facilitating the organisation of pre-meetings by Oxfam and GCAP to make the most of participants travel costs, time and impact.
- Using online social networking and social media tools for practitioners to familiarise themselves with them
- The Event Wiki was used to document some of the sessions
- Identifying a wider range of topics relevant to eCampaigning
- Event sponsors were Oxfam GB, Advocacy Online and Oxfam Novib
- Held the event at St Anne's College to help improve participant interaction
- A larger an more international eCampaigning practitioner network
The eCampaigning Forum puts no emphasis on producing a formal output from the event. Each participant is responsible for documenting what is important to them in the way that suits them. However the event is sometimes used to produce resources that are of direct benefit to participants and other eCampaigning practitioners.
