Getting Started: Checklist

  1. Download and install the eCampaigning Tool for Plone
  2. Familiarise yourself with Editor Guide and Sys-Admins Guide
  3. Join the eCampaigning Tool discussion list (and introduce yourself!)
  4. Explore the issue tracker (we'll get better at using this)
  5. Browse the latest changes via Trac and if necessary, get the latest version from the Plone Collective SVN Repository
  6. Get a Plone.org account (and Plone Collective SVN access to contribute code)
  7. Familiarise yourself with Selenium for browser based testing and the Selenium tests for the eCampaigning Tool
  8. Look at the Feature Roadmap for where it needs to evolve and the Technical Roadmap for were it needs to evolve Current priority: Plone 3 compatibility
  9. Bookmark the eCampaigning Tool home page and the eCampaigning Tool software page
  10. Contact Duane for the latest project update and to let him know your interests

Other Notes

  • Technical Roadmap outlines under-the-hood development directions (for planned new end-user features, see Roadmap)
  • The Known Issues list outlines the most critical current issues and their current workarounds.
  • The To Do List outlines all the ideas for improving the product including architectural changes, re-factoring components into independent products, creating new products to allow the product to be more useful, new features that will allow more effective campaigning, usability ieas to make it easier to use, etc.
  • Tracking Tests instructions for ensuring tracking works under all possible scenarios - how to run the test and what results to expect

Version log

  • 0.2.0 was the first publicly released version (first made public in Dec 2006)
  • 0.1.9 was the first version to work across Plone 2.0, 2.1 and 2.5 (Oct 2006)
  • 0.1.8 was the first production version (June 2005)
