Funding helps make quality e-advocacy tools available to all.

Sponsor

The eCampaigning Tool is the most advanced open-source e-advocacy tool in existence. But with your sponsorship it can still improve.

Effective campaigning and e-campaigning isn't about the tools. Yet good, flexible tools make more options are not feasible and help campaigns achieve more with their limited resources.

The eCampaigning Tool saves each organisation using it tens of thousands of dollars (or pounds, or euros) in service provider fees or developer costs. It also makes it possible for individuals to run campaigns online that use professional campaigning tools.

The eCampaigning Tool isn't perfect, we know it needs to be upgraded to Plone 3, we know it could improve on usability, we know it could be faster and we know it could have more important features. Sponsorship will help achieve these improvements and make e-advocacy tools available to all.

Sponsorship Levels

  • Supporter: £1,000 or less
  • Advocate: £2,500
  • Sponsor: £5,000
  • Champion: £10,000 +

What Sponsorship Buys

Sponsorship will be used to pay developers to continaully improve the eCampainging Tool. The estimated costs of different priorities are:

  • £1,000: Upgrade to work in Plone 3
  • £2,500: Make tool easier to use or set-up a site to demo the eCampaigning Tool
  • £5,000: Integrate with a CRM tool or add political targeting by constituency (or other major feature)
  • £10,000: Re-architect the tool so it can be used in any website - not just Plone and can scale to handle very large traffic volumes

We are open to suggestions for priorities if you are a sponsor. We can also support your developers to improve the eCampaigning Tool if that is your preference.

Cost of not having a free e-advocacy tool costs:

  • £0 if no e-actions are run (but huge lost opportunities and impact)
  • £5,000 for a simple e-action to be set-up by developers
  • £10,000-£25,000 for a 1-year license to use an e-advocacy service
  • £50,000-250,000 to develop your own e-advocacy tool from scratch
